Sampat Studio

Sampat Studio was founded by textile artist Marcos Kueh (*1995) and Interactive/Media/Designer Isabelle Nair-Lacheta (*1998), both graduates of the Royal Academy of Art in 2022. The name "Sampat" is Malaysian slang for someone who’s a bit quirky, eccentric, or wacky, a spirit that Kueh and Nair-Lacheta bring to life in their work. At Sampat Studio, they infuse humor and playfulness into thoughtfully crafted objects, blending a Malaysian perspective with meaningful, reflective design. Their approach celebrates cultural identity through innovative design, using storytelling to push the boundaries of contemporary design.”
