Special by Jessi Strixner: a special exhibition by the German artist Jessi Strixner

Born in Munich in 1992, Jessi Strixner is currently living and working in Germany. 

She was raised in a family of traditionally woodcarving craftsmen, and she has followed in these footsteps, but has taken it into the realm of the arts. Carved out of one piece of wood, Jessi recreates clothes in a humorous and whimsical way. She emphasises on the transformation of the soft fabric into the hard material giving it a special surface. By hanging the object on the wall, the cloth changes from a simple commodity into an iconic object that has an ability to relate to every viewer in a different manner.

Strixner's artworks are also part of the collection of  Museum Voorlinden.
