Sina Dyks
Sina Dyks (*1992, Netherlands) is a textile artist known for her innovative approach to woven art and her dedication to sustainability. Based in the Netherlands, Dyks transforms recycled PET yarns into intricate wall hangings, blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, she explores the emotional and psychological impact of color and texture through her work.
Color, Craft, and Sensory Experience
Dyks’ artistic practice is deeply rooted in color theory and the expressive potential of textiles. Inspired by the work of arts therapist Shivani Khetan and her own research, she crafts immersive textile pieces designed to engage the senses and evoke introspection. Through bold hues and organic forms, her work explores the ways in which stimuli influence well-being, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own emotional connections to color and material.
Pushing Boundaries in Textile Innovation
More than an artist, Dyks is a pioneer in textile craftsmanship. She challenges conventional techniques, incorporating self-spun threads and experimental weaving methods to redefine the limits of textile art. Her large-scale installations unfold like living landscapes, inviting audiences into a world of movement and transformation.
Dyks’ work has been exhibited internationally, with showcases in Paris, Milan, and New York, as well as commissioned projects in Gibraltar and Rome. Her growing recognition reflects not only her technical expertise but also her ability to weave emotion and imagination into every fiber of her creations.
